Lady Bird

LADY BIRD (2017)

A coming-of-age story set in a Californian high school including music from Merrily We Roll Along? I may as well give it 10 thumbs now.

I liked the best friend, and the maths teacher. It’s all very likeable. I’m happy that Jackie from Roseanne is now an Oscar Nominee. She plays an interesting character. I’m often on her side.

The good thing about an indie film is that you never really get what you want; or rather what you’ve been trained to expect. So no big showboating scenes for the actors, or for us. And it’s oddly satisfying. Yet frustrating. Yet likeable.

All in all it’s a lovely sweet film that makes you wanna ring your parents.
