JACKIE (2016)

Documenting the immediate aftermath of the assignation of JFK, this film follows the First Lady dealing with her trauma amid the public glare.
This was a much easier watch than I anticipated. I had little interest in the subject beforehand but now I want to know everything! Portman is just incredible; fragile yet strong, confused and helpless yet assured and powerful. It's a proper leading lady performance. If she didn't already have an oscar she'd be a shoe-in.

Also now I appreciate Mayor Quimby's wife in The Simpsons. Bonus thumbs up!
