Hell or High Water

HELL OR HIGH WATER (2016)

Growing up loving Thelma and Louise I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It's less epic than the aforementioned but who can resist a Robin Hood tale set in dusty Texas?

It's a simple story - two brothers rob banks to pay off a mortgage - and doesn't merit a Best Picture nomination but it is engaging and thrilling with affable characters and some funny scenes (the old waitress serving T-bone steaks is a beauty!).

Written and directed by Tyler Sheridan, his Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay provides a nice success story for the one time Sons of Anarchy cop.
